Lunar Gala is an annual student-run project hosted by the Chinese Students Club in celebration of the Lunar New Year, a Chinese festival that marks the turn of the traditional Chinese calendar. This year's theme celebrates the rise of Asian-American and Asian representation in popular culture and art. The cultural show features music and dance performances from Chinese cultural performance groups and other prominent groups at Columbia and Barnard, and the fashion show exhibits clothing collections from independent Asian-American fashion designers in the New York area, to give them a platform to display their work.
