Blanchard is credited with being a member of a jazz legacy that has helped shape the formula for modern jazz. In addition, he has composed over 50 film scores and received a Golden Globe nomination for Spike Lee’s “25th Hour.” Additional films include “Eve‘s Bayou,” “Talk to Me,” Oprah Winfrey’s “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” and “Miracle at St. Anna’s.”
