CGS are leaders in a new wave of Southern Italy’s beloved pizzica tarantata an ancient ritual said to cure the taranta spider’s bite with its frenzied, trance dances brought to life by the tamburello drum, which pulsates like a beating heart. Drawing on the unique heritage found on Salento, Italy’s isolated peninsula, CGS use lush vocals, percussion, recorder, accordion, and dance to transport listeners to a state of altered consciousness. Experience this music live!
