Short Stories - An evening of multi-arts dance theater works by choreographer Lane Gifford featuring As We Are, a performance installation created in collaboration with sculptor Mark Mennin as a result of a 2011 Manhattan Community Arts Fund grant awarded to Lane Gifford for her project, Cross Borders / A Creative Conversation. The evening will also include original music by composer Trevor Gureckis. By approaching the living experience as a complex game, we present a collage of events that trigger a canvas of color and creation in dance, sculpture, drama and music. We look at human consciousness as revealed in a movement journey and one man’s passage through this landscape. Lane & Co. is a unique blend of dance, theater and visual arts. The mission of the company is to create a rich and dynamic dialogue that fuses a distinctive movement aesthetic, deep emotional exploration, and stimulating visual and dramatic narrative components.
