Irish Arts Center
553 West 51st Street

(Between 10th and 11th Avenues)
New York, NY 10019
Take the C or E train to 50th St (8th Ave); the 1 train to 50th St (Broadway); or the N, R, or Q train to 49th St (7th Ave). Walk west towards 11th Ave. It is roughly a 10 minute walk. A parking garage is located on W. 51st between 10th and 11th Ave.

A unique opportunity to take a workshop with one of Ireland’s most experienced and innovative Bodhrán players. Rónán Ó Snodaigh has performed as a professional musician for over twenty years touring with the bands Dead Can Dance and Kíla and as a solo artist. He has been teaching and giving workshops in bodhrán and rhythm for over ten years in festivals, online, and venues abroad and at home. Suitable for everyone from beginner to more experienced, Ó Snodaigh’s master class aims to bring the participants through the basics of rhythm, to bodhrán playing styles, and playing in a group. Ó Snodaigh imparts his knowledge of bodhrán and years of experience performing live, in a fun and relaxed manner. He is a native Irish speaker so expect the odd piece as gaeilge with translations!

One on one lessons are also available whilst he is in New York.
