BYRON BORDEAUX AS JIMI LANI RAMOS AS JANIS AND STRANGE DAYS AS THE DOORS FEATURING JASON TOSTA AS JIM MORRISON 27 is a tribute to the famous rock stars who died too young at the age of 27. The legends featured in this show are Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison. Janis Joplin’s iconic blues/rock style echoed that of blues performers before her like Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, and Ethel Waters but with a ferocious energy and passion never seen before or since. Hits included Ball and Chain, Me and Bobby McGee, Piece of my Heart, and Mercedez Benz. Jimi Hendrix revolutionized the electric guitar with his ability to make sounds with feedback and distortion that became the cornerstone of psychedelic rock. Hits include Purple Haze, Foxy Lady, The Wind Cries Mary, and the Star Spangled Banner first performed at Woodstock. Jim Morrison was a Los Angeles native whose poetry and lyrics changed the concept of pop music. Long form songs like The End and Riders on the Storm invoked a meditative, dark, and spiritual energy that echoed the music of native Americans.
