SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts is proud to announce the 24th Annual West Wave Dance Festival.

The West Wave Dance Festival, held in San Francisco each year, is a choreography showcase presented in a shared-program format. West Wave’s mission is to unite Bay Area dance by bringing together veteran and newly-established choreographers from all cultures and disciplines, in and beyond the Bay Area, and provide them an opportunity to present work in a professional venue in order to experiment, develop and refine repertories, and build audiences without the burden of self-producing. The Festival focuses on providing residencies to create new work. This year’s theme, “Cultural Destinations”, navigates local dance culture and its diverse forms.

“West Wave’s 24th season has a stellar lineup,” says Joe Landini, founder of SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts, producer of the event for the third year. “As in years past, West Wave is a unique opportunity to see a variety of talented artists and dance forms all in one place. This year’s Festival features dance-theater, hip hop, modern, world dance and fusion from both emerging and established dance artists.”
