The LIC One-Act Festival is a competition style play festival: Plays are voted on by the audience by ballot, 8 of which progress into the Finals on September 19th, and the winner is ultimately chosen by a panel of judges and the audience. Winners will be announced and awarded during the closing night party hosted by The Secret Theatre. Prizes will be offered in the following categories:
    Best Play ($100)
    Best Director ($100)
    Best Actor ($50)
    Best Actress ($50)
In addition to cash prizes, those plays in the Finals will be offered a chance to be non-exclusively published in The Secret Theatre's Anthology of Short Plays.

A woman and man who are deeply attracted to each other find their budding relationship threatened by the woman's intense devotion to her increasingly aggressive cat...

David Lewison’s Walking Distance - 10 min
In a neighborhood bar, a woman who thinks she's only out for a good time faces unusual obstacles when she meets a likable man whose interest in her runs deeper than she is expecting.

Judy Klass’s The Poe-Ster

An English major cramming for finals after a nasty break-up is unnerved when his Edgar Allan Poe poster starts talking to him.

Judy Klass’s Wooing Olivia - 10 min
In Elizabethan London, a girl disguised as a boy disguised as a girl rehearses romantic scenes from Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night with a girl disguised as a boy disguised as a girl disguised as a boy. They are not aware of their mutual crush or their actual mutual gender. Will Shakespeare comes in, watches, and muses on how compelling androgynous young people can be -- like the young man in his sonnets.
