Celebrate World AIDS Day 2015 with Jonathan Larson’s powerhouse rock musical that tells the story of a group of young bohemians living lives full of love and passion while struggling with poverty and the devastating effects of the AIDS virus. Starring a cast of talented local performers and featuring LGBT country/pop star, Steve Grand, this production is the perfect way to celebrate Chicago’s fight against HIV and AIDS.

All proceeds go directly to Aids Foundation Chicago.

ABOUT STEVE GRAND

Joining the World AIDS Day Rent cast is LGBT singer/songwriter superstar and Chicagoland native, Steve Grand, as a special featured guest artist. Mr. Grand, singer of the viral sensation “All-American Boy” released his independent debut album also titled “All-American Boy,” in March of 2015, which landed the #3 spot on the Billboard Independent albums chart. Mr. Grand will perform “Seasons of Love” during the production, and will attend the RENT cast-and-audience after party, which will be hosted by Progress Bar.

WHY RENT?

Rent is one of the most popular, beloved musicals of the past 20 years. It pulses with energy, excitement, and drive. From the opening tune-up on the guitar, to the final, hopeful strains of “Seasons of Love,” the musical presents the tragedy of AIDS through a window of passion and love. We know that Rent will be a major event in the theatrical season—a one night only production that will bring forth the very best in Chicago’s up-and-coming talent. As an opportunity for Artists Giving Back, we see no better way to begin our mission than through the joyful music and theater of Rent.
