Hedwig Dances presents Circling the Square, an evening of two works by Artistic Director Jan Bartoszek: the world premiere of Trio M and the reprise of ASCENDance. Trio M (world premiere) is based on the geometry of the triangle and the numerical and metaphorical references to the number three. Trio M is the first installation of a diptych–a complimentary pair of dances–that illuminate each other. Company members Odbayar Batsuuri, Zachary Bird, and Edson Cabrera perform Trio M. ASCENDance is a multi-disciplinary dance theater work that explores renewal and transformation in a chaotic world. The collaboration includes sculpture by Barbara Cooper, immersive video design by Petra Bachmaier, music by composer Matthew Ferraro, lighting design by Ken Bowen, costume design by Vin Reed, and performance by Hedwig Dances’ ensemble.
