Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company presents FAM, an evening length work of movement, film, video design, intense practical visuals and rhythmic landscapes. Choreographed by new Artistic Director Genevieve Carson, and set to the intoxicating soundscape of Jamie XX’s new album “In Colour," FAM dives into the tight knit relationships built in active process. Performers knead together broad pictures, ignite smaller moments and complete visual worlds only to break them down quickly, emphasizing the fleeting nature of artmaking and the tumbling sensation of the creative process.

FAM explores the feelings of investing energy, time, and trust into a process. The work sheds light on the humility, openness and human connection required to create, break down, adapt and be present with each other. What does it mean to move on? How can such intensity just pass in an instant? What does it mean to release judgement? And, what is left in the end?
