Ghetto Hors D'oeuvres: COLORS is the next in a series of poetic theatrical performances by Brooklyn Gypsies Collective. The Colors of El Barrio, the vibrant graffiti of its streets, 5 Points and its displacement: what do Colors represent to your New York City story? The oxidized bridges, its green polluted waters and let's not forget la vecina next door with a head full of colorful rolos. From popping neon warehouse parties, factories, lofts, and condos, to the elevated trailers that are the fading orange brick projects next door. The changes of Brooklyn and the transformation of the city is all around us. Let's break down the COLORS and have them mix at The Bushwick Starr theater. The audience bears witness as an eclectic group of Brooklyn artists, both native and immigrant, decipher the block and break down the rock that is the foundation and cornerstone of Brooklyn. Performances are followed by a live DJ set, free hors d'oeuvres, conversation and dancing.
Ghetto Hors D'oeuvres: COLORS features MCs, poets, artists, and musicians, including Jason Koo, Jani Rose, Mariela Regalado, Sergio Rosario, Artem Yatsunov, D-Bird, Carmen Bardeguez-Brown, Chrissy Malvasi, Eric Acevedo, Joannesta, Elisabet Velasquez, Albert Taino Image Areizaga, Nessa, Candace Williams, Bay Bryan, Sarah 'Little Sheba' Serrano, Joel Daniels, Prince Premeo, Robert Parker.
