Ascendence Dance Chicago Presents: Resilient Benefit Concert

The premier presentation of Ascendence Dance Chicago along with several guest choreographers, performers and Chicago area dance companies, coming together presenting pieces with one unified theme: Resilience. An evening of movement art, dedicated to the design, creation and passion for performance pieces that resonate with anyone in need of healing or inspiration. Ascendence Dance Chicago distinguishes itself by its unique concepts and ability to give back to the Chicago community, and rally them to “Ascend”.

The evening will also include a cocktail hour and special silent auction. 20% of proceeds for the evening will be donated to organizations such as CAASE (Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation) and RVA (Rape Victim Advocates). As well as a percentage going to help fund Ascendence Dance Chicago’s Movement Classes–a complimentary group dance class available to assault survivors (be it sexual, domestic, or otherwise) to allow them a safe environment to use movement and dance as artistic and expressive healing. Ascendence Dance Chicago plans to use company members, other dance professionals and coordinate with movement therapists to give the best, most beneficial movement and dance classes available in the Chicago area to assault survivors.
