17CU1: CU Libertarians, Victims, Victims Everywhere
Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 7:00PM

Roone Arledge Auditorium Cinema
Lerner Hall
New York, NY 10027

College is intended to be a haven for open discourse. But all too often, it is a place where politically correct students bully those with opposing views into silence. Talk of “trigger warnings," “safe spaces,” and "rape culture" encourages a crippling mentality of victimhood. Where did this hypersensitivity come from, and what might we do to turn things around? Christina Hoff Sommers, scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and critic of contemporary feminism will be speaking on these topics and more. The talk begins at 7:00pm on November 1st; Q&A to follow. Co-sponsored by the Columbia Libertarians, The Columbia Political Union, and the Columbia College Republicans. Organized by the Columbia American Enterprise Institute Executive Council.
