This special concert presentation of the musical score from Pavel Zuštiak and Palissimo Company’s The Painted Bird: Amidst is a celebration of the official release of the recording by Christian Frederickson, Ryan Rumery, and Jason Noble. These performer/composers accompanied the world premiere of the dance work at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in July of 2011. The album was recorded by Kevin Ratterman at The Funeral Home studio in Louisville, KY, with additional recording in New York by John Kilgore and Matt Hubbs. It was mixed in Louisville by Ratterman, along with Frederickson, Noble, and Rumery, and mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Co. This album represents the culmination of more than five years of work, which was indelibly affected by the death of Jason Noble, from cancer, in 2012. It took some time, but we think this is the album Jason would have wanted to make. Christian and Ryan are delighted to have William Flynn playing bass for this performance; Bill played for the performances of the complete Painted Bird trilogy, at La MaMa in 2013.
