Alcina, a fearsome sorceress with an island of her own, lures men to their doom. After seducing them with her magic, she turns the men into wildlife to decorate her home. But when the solider Ruggiero crashes on Alcina's island, she gets more than she ever expected. In this retelling of Ariosto's Orlando Furioso, love, deception, and jealousy collide to create a thrilling story for any century. This gritty, modern-day production of Handel's opera illuminates both the pitfalls of addiction and the possibility of redemption from our most powerful vices.
