BANISHED: Shakespeare's Exiles
Panel & Performances
Monday, May 22, 2017 at 7:00PM

the Pearl Theatre
555 West 42nd Street
New York, NY 10036

The harrowing fate of “banishment” is one that many of Shakespeare’s characters endure. It leads some to despair; some to defiance; some to self-transformation; and some to understanding, even when the world as they once knew it has receded far from view. But however they experience it, Shakespeare’s exiles help audiences to appreciate the shared human struggle for truth, acceptance, and love that binds us together even when politics, ignorance, or fear would drive us apart.

Join The Shakespeare Society Ambassadors for this evening of scenes from Sir Thomas More, Richard II, As You Like It, King Lear, and more, with commentary from special guests.
