REBEL VERSES Youth Arts Festival brings together student ensembles from all five boroughs of New York City and Pennsylvania. Students develop their artistic skills in workshops led by working artists by day, and at night, perform their own original works.
Each night amazing young artists from around the region will perform their own original work with amazing talent like Daphne Rubin-Vega (RENT, "Smash"), Okai (Brown Rice Family, Regime Change), Diana Oh (MY LINGERIE PLAY, How to be Single), Eric Bogosian (TALK RADIO, "Law and Order: Criminal Intent"), LaChanze (THE COLOR PURPLE, The Help), and Craig 'muMs' Grant (Birdman, "Oz"). For the first time in the festival's 13-year history, Developing Artists is partnering with Vineyard Theatre to produce the event, giving over 70 students a chance to perform their original work on an Off-Broadway stage.
CONTENT ADVISORY: REBEL VERSES encourages young artists to explore their unique voices. Some pieces deal with sex and violence, and some content may not be appropriate for audience members under age 13.
