PANIC! is a full-length historical drama which centers on the events surrounding the Earl of Essex Rebellion in February, 1601. On Saturday, February 7th, the Earl commissioned performance of Shakespeare's Richard the Second, but it wasn't a typical performance. This performance would feature the one-hundred-and-fifty lines that had been struck from the play by the Queen's censor. The next day the Earl of Essex attempted to lead a rebellion against the Queen. Shakespeare and company were forced into hiding. A grounded, witty psychodrama about addiction. Laura Wells, an actress and recovering alcoholic, has been living responsibly with her stable and codependent college sweetheart Gabe. Doubting her value and contentment, she embarks on an affair with her free-thinking co-star, Myles. This story explores how addictions manifest themselves outside of drugs and alcohol, but it is not a morality play.
