In a communal residence in a New England city, four mentally handicapped men live under the supervision of a young social worker named Jack, charged with helping them live regular lives. Norman works at a donut shop and has a thing for keys; Barry thinks he is a golf pro and doesn't communicate well with his father; Arnold is into all things Russian and has a habit of spending money; and Lucien, who is into Spider Man, must testify before the state senate. In the daily lives of these four, "little things" become momentous and also very funny, yielding a poignant reminder that the handicapped, like the rest of us, want only to love and laugh and find some meaning and purpose.
