TREKLAND Presents: An Evening with ANDREEA KINDRYD
Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 6:00PM

Impro Studio
1727 N. Vermont Ave
#208
Los Angeles, CA 90027

Trekland’s Portal 47 is thrilled to present an intimate Los Angeles hour with a real-life icon of living history: at 78, Andreea “Ande” Kindryd looks back on an incredible life that uniquely connected her to the three assassinated civil rights leaders: Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr and how the Watts Riot and her miniskirts landed her on the original Star Trek with Gene L. Coon, the “Forgotten Gene” of Star Trek. Andreea returns for a Los Angeles visit from her home of 40 years in Australia to bring us rare, vibrant insights and everyday memories of Coon as well as Trek creator Gene Roddenberry the historic cast and crew— and speak for those long gone and to the vibe of those times. Star Trek set her on a course of filmmaking, mediation, and her late career as a storyteller. Learn a bit about her stalwart forebears too, and you’ll see why this TED Talk finalist is as much a force of nature as she seemed when she turned up in Stephen Whitfield Poe’s landmark best-seller, The Making of Star Trek. Star Trek author/editor/host and documenter Larry Nemecek is producing the encounter under his Trekland banner and new-wave Portal47.net fan experience—where no savvy Trek fan has gone before!—and will serve as host to Andreea to spur and spark some spontaneous, outspoken recollections. As a double treat for Trek fans, Andreea is appearing in a twin-bill just before The Improvised Generation, Impro Studio's own improvised Star Trek: TNG, with an intermission and meet-n-greet afterparty hosted by StarShade Media!
