A Workshop Production: We are thrown headlong into the hectic, hierarchical world of the New York City restaurant industry as Mitch, a new inexperienced manager takes a place at the top, followed by a tight-knit group of disarmingly hopeful and determined service employees. In this political pecking order, a privileged few may succeed, while the dignified suffer disempowerment. THE PARLOUR is an ensemble comedy about the have and haves-nots of urban existence, and the sacrifices we make for survival.

Middle Voice at Rattlestick, Rattlestick’s Apprentice Company comprised of 18-30 year-old theater artists from traditionally diverse and underrepresented communities, is mentored by Lucy Thurber. The mission of Middle Voice is to create theater that embraces risk and encourages ensemble, and to reach different class segments in American society through the company’s work.

Each company member is tasked to create and execute a Mission Project. The Mission Project is a theatrical work, series, or program culminated during the artist’s apprenticeship. To date, Middle Voice has produced five Mission Projects. This is Xavier Galva's Mission Project.
