Kent Tritle, Director of Cathedral Music at St. John the Divine and organist of the New York Philharmonic, plays a thrilling recital of French organ music on the Great Organ of St. John the Divine. From the elegance and swagger of the French Baroque composers Marchand and Couperin, to the subtlety and virtuosity of the twentieth-century organist Jehan Alain, to the dramatic and moving Sonata No. 5 by the Romantic virtuoso Alexandre Guilmant, Tritle brings an exciting flair to this extraordinary program.
