I strongly believe these three things can make you become a better comic that will stand out from all the click-y, back wall-hugging, jaded-for-no-reason, wanna be comics in LA.

It’s not enough to tell inside jokes to your friends on stage. Will people in Des Moines laugh at that joke? Can it stand alone in middle America? If you want to be a working comedian or do Conan, you’re going to have to ditch that junk and put in some work. Your audience actually lives between LA and New York and prepping material that travels should be your goal.

In this class we will be writing new jokes, refine old ones, helping classmates with material and working on delivery. We will also be getting used to a cold stage and audience and learn how to work it to our advantage while not panicking. But most importantly we will work on tapping into saying it your way, saying it differently and being entertaining.  - Shawn Gnandt

Prerequisites: Intro to Stand Up or commensurate experience. You must have a 5 minute working set to join the class.
