The Ensemble Playwright Lab (EPL) is a residency program in which the playwright engages with Letter of Marque's (LOM) ensemble to create, develop, or reimagine a piece of work; which will be presented to the public at the end of the residency.


Our playwright-in-residence, Matthew Minnicino has been working with our Lieutenant Lab artists for 6 sessions to explore the original text of The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.

More about the Playwright:
Matt Minnicino is a Manhattan-based, Virginia-born playwright, actor, adaptor, director, and storyteller. He is the recipient of the 2016 Arts & Letters Prize, the 2012 Clay E. Delauney Playwriting Prize, a finalist for the 2017 Jeffrey Melnick New Playwright Award, semifinalist for the 2016 Eugene O'Neill New Plays Conference; member of Pipeline Theatre's 2017-18 PlayLab and Everyday Inferno's 2016 Writer/Director Lab; and recipient of residencies with SPACE on Ryder Farm, Exquisite Corpse, Sugarglass Theatre, and many others; and has been published by The Dionysian, The Dramatist, and HowlRound. His work has been performed or developed in 12 states (and Ireland). He has professionally adapted Chekhov, Gorky, Strindberg, Ibsen, Homer, Aeschylus, Sophocles, and more. He has been a teaching artist at the American Shakespeare Center since 2011. MFA: Columbia.
