Mosesian Center for the Arts

Watertown, MA 02472

This class meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 pm (5 weeks).

In this class, students learn five printmaking techniques that use non-toxic materials and water-soluble ink. Students have fun experimenting and applying the knowledge of color, line and form to the following processes: relief, collograph, dry-point engraving, chine-collet and monotype printing techniques (including trace and stencils) with inexpensive PETG and linoleum plates. Students/artists are also introduced to image preparation and transfer methods, ink and paper preparation, rolling techniques, printing on an etching press and by hand. This course is suitable for artists of all levels of ability and experience. A materials list will be posted online prior to the start of class. Shared materials are paid for through an additional fee of $50 collected during the first class meeting.
