A Spring Performance of Coppelia
Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00PM
Guild Hall
153 Main Street
East Hampton,
NY
11937
The Hampton Ballet Theatre School (HBTS) is excited to perform their beautiful spring production of the ballet “Coppelia.” The lively score is by Leo Delibes and the ballet is choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland and includes beautiful costumes designed and hand sewn by Yuka Silvera and lighting designed by Sebastian Paczynski. Guest artists include Nick Peregrino dancing the divertissements “Prayer” and “Gigue” and Adam and Gail Baranello of A&G Dance Company dancing the divertissement, “War.” Devon Friedman and Vincenzo James Harty, both advanced professional students (level 7) at HBTS will be dancing the lead roles of Swanhilda and Franz.
“Coppelia” is a ballet comedic delight! The courtship of Swanhilda and Franz, and the doll, Coppelia, who Franz mistakenly courts, along with Dr. Coppelius’ bumbling antics will entertain all ages. The traditional village dances in Act 1 and the “Festival of the Bell” in Act 3 will have you dancing in your seats! Do not to miss this lovely Springtime treat!
