Kirk Reese has been an active part of the jazz scene in Pennsylvania for thirty years.  He has performed with numerous notable jazz artists including alto saxophonist Phil Woods, Lou Marini, trumpeter Marvin Stamm, Russian trumpeter Valery Ponomarev, Tim Warfield Jr, Ralph Moore, Billy Higgins, “Blue Lou” Marini and jazz violinist John Blake.

Reese first performed in the Attic last December with Rick Hirsch’s trio playing the music from Charlie Brown Christmas. For this evening’s concert Reese brings his own longstanding trio from the Capitol region, with bassist Steve Meashey and drummer Jeff Stabley.

Kirk Reese has been on the music faculty at Messiah College since 1993, teaching jazz improvisation & piano. His bands have opened for Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, BB King, Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck), Bob Mintzer (Yellow Jackets), and others.

Steve Meashey has long been the first call bassist in the greater Harrisburg region. He’s truly one of the finest, most lyrical bass players in all of PA.

Drummer Kirk Stabley hails from York, and has performed with a wide range of musicians from PA jazz icons Tim Warfield and John Swana to pop stars Donnie & Marie Osmond and Eddie Money.
