For playwrights, directors or actors interested in new plays, no previous experience necessary.

Join artistic director of Fishamble: The New Play Company Jim Culleton to explore the role of the director, focusing on new plays. Through a mixture of discussion, text analysis, and practical exercises, Culleton will explore how the director works with actors and playwrights to create a piece of theatre that engages an audience.

Jim Culleton is artistic director of Olivier Award-winning Fishamble: The New Play Company for which he has directed award winning productions that have toured throughout Ireland, UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and 12 European countries. Fishamble productions include Pat Kinevane’s three plays Underneath, Silent and Forgotten, all of which have had their US premiere at Irish Arts Center, in association with Georganne Aldrich Heller, and Tiny Plays for Ireland and America, which was presented at the IAC and Kennedy Center in 2016 as part of Imagine Ireland. He is Adjunct Lecturer at Trinity College Dublin, and has taught at NYU, Notre Dame, NUIM/GSA, the Lir, Uversity and UCD.
