Know how to use a sewing machine, but wish someone could help troubleshoot projects? This class focuses on moving beyond beginning projects and fabric construction to incorporate creativity and design with machine sewing. Projects and skills will vary depending upon the needs and interests of students but may include altering an existing garment to change the style or fit, turning a beloved garment into something else such as jeans into a tote bag, or even creating a pattern to clone a favorite item. Topics may also include learning new skills such as sewing zippers, choosing fabrics, reading patterns, gathering, pleating, and setting in sleeves. Sewing machine required. Materials needed vary by student and will be addressed in class.
