The Beginners/Basic class will be oriented toward beginners on the anglo concertina. It will also be suited for those who can play a few notes and even a few tunes. We will learn some simple tunes, review scales and ornamentation, and cover the basic fingering choices which are unique to the concertina and can sometimes be confusing to the beginner. Tunes will be taught by ear, standard notation and ABC will also be provided. If you need help learning to read music we will cover that too. We will also be listening to selected recordings of the great players. All ages are welcome. Bring your concertina and some kind of audio recorder. Be ready to have some fun.

No concertina? No problem! We have a limited number of concertinas available to rent for a small fee.

This class requires an instrument. Advance notice is required for a rental. After you sign up for the class contact Doug Barr, dbarr15@aol.com, to let us know if you would like to rent an instrument.
