The intermediate class will be oriented toward students with some prior experience playing the Anglo concertina. This class is geared towards students who have taken the beginner/basic class at least once, or those who have at least one year of experience playing the concertina. We will learn some intermediate session tunes, review scales and ornamentation, and the basic fingering choices which are unique to the concertina. Tunes will be taught by ear, standard notation and ABC will also be provided. If you need help learning to read music we will cover that too. We will also be listening to selected recordings of the great players. All ages are welcome. Bring your concertina and some kind of audio recorder. Be ready to have some fun!

No concertina? No problem! We have a limited number of concertinas available to rent for a small fee.

Please note that this is not at Irish Arts Center. This class requires an instrument. Advance notice is required for a rental. After you sign up for the class contact Doug Barr, dbarr15@aol.com, to let us know if you would like to rent an instrument.
