This practical playwriting workshop explores the essential ideas and techniques that can be utilized to bring out the drama in any story. Through writing exercises and sharing, students will walk away with a self-identified set of tools they can use to hone skills and craft dynamic, theatrical stories to share with the world. This course will also review contemporary and classical Irish playwrights (such as Enda Walsh, Marina Carr and Samuel Beckett) to examine theatricality and the craft of dramatic writing, with the goal of writing your own plays. Please note that this is not at Irish Arts Center.
