Do people say you have a really great speaking voice? If you've heard this from your family and friends throughout your life, it's probably true and with some expert training from radio legend Candy O'Terry, you just might make money with that voice!

Boston Casting's Voiceover 101 with Candy O'Terry is a practical, hands on introduction to learning how to become a capable voiceover pro. She'll teach you what to expect when you walk into a recording studio, industry watchwords, how to take direction, how to read for time, read ahead and even how to overcome that Boston accent! She'll help you discover different types of delivery and help you hone your own unique style, plus the value of creating a low cost home studio and which voiceover websites to join. One class will take place in a recording studio where you will record a :10 and a :30 second commercial for your demo reel.

About Candy:

There are only a few women in Boston whose voices are as recognizable as Candy O's. The newest member of Boston Casting's teaching staff was on the air at Magic 106.7 for 25 years and has recorded hundreds of commercials throughout her long career, including: American Airlines in flight entertainment, Century Bank, Dentyne, Homegoods, Lifetime Television, Sleep Number and Santa's Village. As creator and founder of the Exceptional Women show, she has received 43 local and national awards for excellence in women’s programming. It’s rare to find a woman who not only plays songs on the radio, but sings them herself. Her full length CD Dream Come True features tracks that have received worldwide airplay including The Gift, You Are The Only One, Silent Night, Over The Rainbow and To Make You Feel My Love. She is the lead judge on the Emmy award winning TV talent show Community Auditions and has acted in 3 locally produced feature films including Lazarus Rising winner of Best Action Film at the 2015 Action on Film Festival. The co-founder and President of Boston Women in Media & Entertainment, Candy is a constant mentor to women in her field and is a tireless warrior in the fight against breast cancer, serving as the radio ambassador for the American Cancer Society's Making Stride Against Breast Cancer Walk/Boston for 13 years. She sits on the board of Dream BIG and is the media ambassador for Strong Women, Strong Girls. Candy was also named the 2015 Broadcaster of the Year by the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association.
