This year marks the 20th anniversary of the murder of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, WY. In the time passed, what have we learned? How far have we actually come? Doubt, questions of identity, and denial continue to prevail in society. By mounting this production of The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, The Collective Conscious Ensemble, in partnership with the Hetrick-Martin Institute, aims to address these questions head on.

As pride comes to a close, we as a community are mixed with feelings of love and joy. We celebrate what it is to live out loud and be proud of who are, while simultaneously acknowledging the plight of those before us. It is with this spirit that we look to Matthew Shepard's story. We aim to analyze how his death lingers with us, 20 years later. Now,  in 2018, we believe it is time to examine our roles in society and how hate persists.  As an ensemble, we believe in mobilization, activism, and in confronting consciousness with art.

Writer: Play by Andy Paris, Greg Pierotti, Leigh Fondakowski, Moisés Kaufman, and Stephen Belber
