Transport Group’s world premiere musical, Renascence, is a theatrical exploration of identity and artistry through the poems of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay.  At the age of 19 she writes “Renascence,” a profound and powerful poem that catapults her to stardom. Released from her humble beginnings, Vincent becomes the “original riot grrrl” of her time, captivating both men and women with her unapologetic sensuality and frank intellect. Renascence, with its lush, contemporary score, follows the early years of Vincent’s life and in the process invites us to explore humanity and nature through her own lyrical words.

Renascence is strictly limited through November 17 with music by Carmel Dean, book by Tony-nominated Dick Scanlan and lyrics from the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Music direction by Geraldine Anello. Choreography by Scott Rink. Directed by Jack Cummings III and Dick Scanlan.
