The International Human Rights Art Festival is thrilled to announce its 2018 Festival, co-produced by and held at the Wild Project, from November 12-18, 2018. The Festival will comprise 30 events and 100+ artists, presenting advocacy performances and art which bring together beauty, sincerity, vulnerability and engagement to open a space for healing, discussion and social change.

Julia Levine and Ran Xia (theatre; 60 minutes)

“Dirt”: Inspired by Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring, and other writings both scientific and fantastical, DIRT elucidates the world beneath our feet and evaluates our connection to where our food grows. Theatre artists Julia Levine and Ran Xia will present a staged reading of this new play at the Festival. Julia is a theatre artist and educator who is also Marketing Associate at HERE and Artistic Producer of The Arctic Cycle. She writes for the online series Artists and Climate Change, and is a founding member of the Back to Work Collective and CLIMATE LENS. https://www.juliaslevine.com RAN XIA is an interdisciplinary dramatist, director, designer, and visual artist.
