SYNOPSIS

A goal to set the record straight with unprecedented access to family archival material drove the Hollywood icon’s filmmaker nephew to dispel the “live fast, die pretty” tabloid image of a talented, committed, and principled actor. Along with Marlon Brando and James Dean, Montgomery Clift blew up the system as Tinseltown’s original method actors, and for the first time we see the depth of Clift’s character, beyond tired tropes of a beautifully tragic film star.

Please be advised that the majority of the films programmed by the AVFS are independently produced and are, as yet, unrated. Viewers with sensitivity to sexual, violent, or crude themes are advised to investigate the content before attending.
