SYNOPSIS

Most of us have never heard of Kiribati, but this remote Pacific Island is a stark and startling bellwether for climate change. Endearing president Anote Tong races to solve the tiny nation’s imminent inundation from rising sea levels through international negotiations and innovative concepts. Meanwhile, sharp-witted resident Sermary, a mother of six, confronts the inevitable choice to remain or relocate to New Zealand.

Please be advised that the majority of the films programmed by the AVFS are independently produced and are, as yet, unrated. Viewers with sensitivity to sexual, violent, or crude themes are advised to investigate the content before attending.
