SYNOPSIS

With this glimpse into the heritage of activism, we meet Lakota activist and community organizer Madonna Thunder Hawk, whose career fighting for Indigenous and women's rights has now spanned over 50 years. Madonna, her daughter, and her sisters continue the fight at the forefront of Native issues, fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota and implementing self-determination and empowerment into reservation life.
