Columbia Ballet Collaborative (CBC) is pleased to present a program of six original works for its upcoming fall performances. Founded in 2007 by five professional ballet dancers enrolled at Columbia University, CBC is comprised of students from all of the University’s undergraduate colleges and affiliates. For the fall 2018 season, Columbia Ballet Collaborative welcomes Zhongjing Fang, American Ballet Theatre soloist; Silas Farley, member of New York City Ballet’s corps de ballet; Stefano Nappi, graduate of Teatro di San Carlo and New York-based freelance choreographer; Emily Schoen, Dance Magazine “Top 25 to Watch” artist and founder of Schoen Movement Company; and Eryn Renee Young, co-founder and resident choreographer of XAOC Contemporary Ballet. This season we are also continuing our choreographic mentorship program where student choreographer Kosta Karakashyan, a fourth year student at Columbia College, will create a piece with the guidance of former CBC choreographer Michelle Thompson Ulerich. We are also excited to introduce a new collaboration with Columbia’s Department of Music. Choreographer Emily Schoen will work with a fourth-year student in the Columbia Music Composition program, Simon Broucke, to create an original score for her new work.
