Our production based musical theatre camps give your young actor the whole acting experience in four weeks! We start with auditions for the show on the first day of camp and spend our weeks together rehearsing for the culminating production during the last week of camp.

Actors will work through the entire acting process via rehearsals for the production of The Lion King, including: line memorization, scene blocking, character creation, vocal strengthening, and choreography. We encourage the building of community and working together when we meet each morning and afternoon for an all-camp (Youth, Middlers, and Teens) warm up and lunch.

The birth of a newborn cub, Simnba, to King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi, leaves Mufasa’s younger brother, Scar angry about his loss of line to the throne. As Simba grows into a curious young lion, jealous Uncle Scar encourages, Simba and his best friend, Nala, to ditch their overbearing babysitter, Zazu, and check out an elephant graveyard where they encounter the ravenous hyenas, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. Mufasa arrives in the nick of time to pummel the hyenas and take the cubs home.

Looking for another opportunity to enact a murderous plan to become king, Scar leaves Simba alone in the gorge and signals the hyenas to scare a herd of wildebeest, causing a stampede that will crush Simba. Scar alerts Mufasa, who leaps into the stampede, once again saving his son at the last moment. Scar secretly pushes his brother back into the gorge, where he is trampled. Scar blames an unaware Simba for the king's death, tells him to leave and never return. Scar promptly assumes the throne, uniting lions and hyenas under his dark reign.

Lost in the desert, Simba meets Timon, the meerkat, and Pumbaa, the warthog, who take him to their "worry-free" jungle home.

Years pass and under Scar's reign, the Pridelands are nearly destroyed. Nala leaves seeking help and to her delighted surprise, she finds Simba alive in the jungle. With the help and encouragement of Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, and the memory of his father, Simba agrees to return to the Pridelands and confront Scar. The truth of Mufasa's murder is revealed and Scar is forced to run away, pursued by angry and hungry hyenas. With peace restored in the Pridelands, Simba takes his place as king and the circle of life continues.

We also have before and after care from 8:30-9:30 AM and 3:30-6 PM. The fee is $10 per hour. Please email Emma Ditnes at EDitnes@MacGuffinTF.com to schedule your child.
