This contemporary class hopes to awaken the athlete and artist in all of us. Rooted in clear technique practices it emphasizes healthy alignment, flexibility, stamina and artistry. These principles are used as points of departure for risk taking and investigation. Improvisational tools are utilized as a way to awaken the senses, challenge movement conventions, and find ways to navigate from feet to floor seamlessly. This high intensity class builds into learning excerpts of LED repertoire, giving dancers the opportunity to dig deep into the movement and investigate elements of dynamics, direction, size and texture. Be prepared to sweat and surprise yourself. Open to intermediate & advanced dance students from middle school to high school.
