LOST IN YONKERS tells the story of Jay and Arty Kurnitz, who find their lives turned upside down when their father Eddie moves south for work, leaving them with their no-nonsense Grandmother and their loving but absent-minded spinster Aunt Bella. Along the way, they're also introduced to their Uncle Louie, a small-time crook and their kind Aunt Gert, who has developed a serious (but hilarious) breathing problem due to the fear that she has for her own mother. This benefit semi-staged reading was conceived by Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight the musical) with proceeds from the event going directly to The National Alzheimer's Association in honor of the late Neil Simon, who recently passed away from the disease, as well as The Ovarian Cancer Fund in honor of Broadway actress Marin Mazzie, who also recently passed away.
The evening will be co-directed by Realbuto and Paul Mitchell Wilder (Manahatta) and stage managed by Ryan A. Ross (Desperate Measures).
The all-star cast includes:
ERIN DAVIE (Broadway's Side Show; Sunday in Park With George; and Grey Gardens) as Bella Kurnitz
Two-time Tony Award nominee and SAG Award winner BETH FOWLER (“Orange Is The New Black”; Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast; Sweeney Todd; and The Boy From Oz) as Grandma Kurnitz
AIDAN GEMME (Broadway's Finding Neverland and Waiting For Godot) as Jay Kurnitz
DREW LOGAN POWELL (Star of Bryan Cranston's Amazon television series "The Dangerous Book For Boys") as Arty Kurnitz
TIM REALBUTO (Star of the upcoming major motion picture YES) as Louie Kurnitz
GRAHAM ALEXANDER SACK (Original Arty in Broadway's Lost In Yonkers) as Eddie Kurnitz
and LIZ MCCARTNEY (Broadway's Taboo; The Phantom of the Opera; and My Fair Lady) as Gert Kurnitz
