CORE 2: Character CORE
Open For Enrollment
Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 7:00PM
Impro Theatre School
1727 N Vermont Ave.
Students must have completed CORE 1 to enroll in this class. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or ask your current CORE 1 instructor before enrolling.
Character CORE is the second workshop in the series of four CORE curriculum workshops for narrative improvisation. Impro teaches that story arises out of character and their relationship to the other characters. In addition to deepening the work from Impro Basics and Physical CORE, this workshop explores creating grounded characters with vulnerability, strong wants, and specific points of view. It also explores relationship through status and being emotionally affected. While in narrative improvisation, it’s easy to fall into the trap of following plot, Impro teaches students that if you go deeper into character and relationship, plot will simply happen.
This class will end on July 18th
After completing Character CORE, the instructor will meet with each student to discuss his or her classwork. At which point, the instructor will recommend either another session of Character CORE or the third workshop of the C.O.R.E. Program: Story CORE.
Audition or placement required.
COST: $485 for 12 weeks
