[GET WELL SOON] you black + bluised
Day Two | Protest
Friday, May 24, 2019 at 7:00PM

Abrons Arts Center
466 Grand Street
New York, NY 10002
F/M to Delancey/Essex; B/D to Grand St.; M14A to Pitt St.

you black + bluised will take place over the course of three evenings. Audiences are encouraged to buy tickets to all three performances by purchasing a Performance Pass.

you black + bluised is a continuation of [exercises in getting well soon], a project / meditation based on the loose and often used phrase indicating a hope of recovery. These “exercises” have been articulated as movement, installation, games, endurance, ritual, poetry, and collective action, and consider the possibility of performance as a space for reparative action. you black + bluised is a site specific work that will make use of the architecture and positionality of Abrons Arts Center to wrestle with the “they versus us” paradigm through sound, movement and tableau.

This work will presented in three sections, entitled Prayer, Protest, and A Pieace.

May 24 | Day Two | Protest

The audience is invited to the Underground Theater to experience a rupture.
