now my hand is ready for my heart: intimate histories

By Nicky Paraiso
Directed by John Jesurun

now my hand is ready for my heart: intimate histories is a deep exploration of an artist’s life, which investigates aging, identity, sexuality, class and race. It is also a celebration of an artistic community as it grows older and continues to make work, both individually and with each other. Choreographer/dancers Irene Hultman, Jon Kinzel, Vicky Shick, & Paz Tanjuaquio collaborate and perform with Paraiso.

Nicky Paraiso, programming director for the Club and chief curator for the La MaMa Moves! Dance Festival, is a downtown icon. As an actor, performer, musician, and singer he has worked with Meredith Monk, Jeff Weiss, Yoshiko Chuma and many others over the past four decades. .
