Kayke is applying for a visa to go to the US. She has her application, valid passport, invitation letter and a hundred dollars. But is it enough? What binding ties does she have to her home country? How do the immigration agents know she won't stay past her visa illegally? Can she prove she's not a terrorist? The "gODs" at the American Embassy are not easily appeased, but Kayke, like the hundreds of other visa applicants she waits with, has no choice but to play their game and pray that they will smile on her today.
