This class meets Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 9:00 pm except April 18.

Interested in the craft of graphic storytelling? Participants in this class create dynamic, engaging comics through the study of figure and environmental drawing, layout design, and other essential elements of visual story. Together the class explores strategies for creating characters, drawing figures and expressions to communicate story and emotion, designing a page, and framing scenes to create compelling graphic narratives. Participants read and analyze professional comics to learn from the masters, and use that knowledge to build comics from thumbnails to complete, inked and colored pages. True or invented, silly or sad, students learn the tools they need to bring their stories to life on the page. No prior drawing experience required—all skill levels are encouraged to enroll! Materials list will be posted online prior to the start of class.
