The Promenade Players presents two plays by James McLure.

In the cluttered backyard of a small-town Texas bar, Roy, is trying to reestablish his position in the community after a stint in Vietnam. Roy cherishes three things above all; his country, his wife, and his 1959 pink Thunderbird. He is joined by his younger brother, Ray, who worships him, and Cletis, the fatuous son of the local hardware store owner. While consuming a case of beer and regaling Ray & Cletis with tales of his military and amorous exploits, Roy's world begins to collapse as a secret is released and a treasure possession is taken. Despite these misfortunes, humor and camaraderie are the glue that keep these three friends together in Lone Star. Directed by Amy Ticho, and featuring Richie Irons, Chuck Quinn and Tim Walsh

On the front porch of Roy and Elizabeth's home in Maynard, Texas, Elizabeth and her friend Hattie are whiling away the time folding laundry, watching TV, sipping bourbon and Coke on a hot summer afternoon. They are joined by the self-righteous gossip Amy Lee, who can't resist blurting out, among many things, that Roy has been seen around town with another woman. The ensuing conversations edge Laundry & Bourbon with bitter humor, small town anecdotes, optimism, hope and beauty. Directed by Will Loftus, and featuring Meredith Cunningham, Kathy Martin and Rosa Nevin
